When Bitly is the better choice
We'll start with the honest part. Bitly genuinely wins for:
- Brand recognition. Two decades of "bit.ly" being everywhere. If you don't have your own domain and you want a host people instantly trust, Bitly's free
bit.ly beats incy.my on familiarity.
- Massive existing ecosystem. Bitly has Zapier triggers, Salesforce integrations, scale-tested infrastructure. We have a REST API, which covers most needs but isn't as plug-and-play.
- Enterprise-grade SLAs. Bitly's Enterprise contracts include things like 99.9% uptime SLA, dedicated account manager, SOC 2 reports. We're growing into that — talk to us if it matters.
When Incy Links is the better choice
- You want your own domain at a sane price. Bitly used to bundle custom domains; now it's an add-on. With Incy, custom domains are a Pro-plan thing and there's no per-domain fee for the first 10.
- You don't want third-party trackers in your redirect path. When someone clicks a Bitly link, Bitly's analytics partners get a ping. With Incy, the only thing that happens is a row in our DB and the redirect.
- You want real click data in a format you own. Export everything as CSV any time. No pulling click data through a clunky API rate limit.
- You're shipping multiple bio pages. Bitly limits you to one. Incy gives you unlimited — pin one to a custom domain for your brand, run another at
incy.my/@launch for a campaign.
- You use UTM tags constantly. Incy's preset saver lets you click "LinkedIn social" and have all five UTM fields filled in. Bitly makes you copy-paste every time.
- You like seeing pricing on a pricing page. No "starting from", no "talk to sales", no surprise overage charges.
Migrating from Bitly
If you've got an existing Bitly library you want to bring across:
- Export your Bitly links as CSV (Bitly dashboard → bulk actions → export)
- Sign up for Incy and add your custom domain (Pro tier)
- Upload the CSV at
/admin/import — we accept destination_url, slug, title, tags, expires_at, password
- If you have an existing Bitly redirect domain, you can update its DNS to point at us once your import is complete — the same short URLs keep working.

The summary
Bitly is the safe, well-known choice. We built Incy Links because the well-known choice was expensive, gated essentials behind upsells, and ran trackers on our customers' visitors.
If those things matter to you too, give the 14-day free trial a spin. No card required, full Lite features, real data export if you decide it's not for you.
