Why we built Incy Links

We ship a lot of links — campaign URLs, sales decks, QR codes on printed material, internal Slack pointers — and we kept hitting the same walls with every URL shortener we tried. So we built our own.

The walls

The pattern was always the same:

  • You had to pay extra to use your own domain. Even on paid plans, putting links on links.acme.com instead of bit.ly/x4Z7q was a separate add-on with its own fee.
  • Essential analytics were gated behind enterprise tiers. Things as basic as "where in the world are these clicks coming from" were locked behind a sales-call paywall.
  • Third-party trackers ran on the redirect path. Click one of those links and a pixel network knew about it. That's not what a redirect should be.
  • The URLs we shared looked spammy. Generic shortener domains have decades of phishing and clickbait baggage. People hover, see bit.ly, and pause.

What we wanted instead

A short list:

  • Short URLs on our domain, not theirs.
  • Real click data — referrer, country, device — in our database, exportable as CSV.
  • No third-party trackers on the redirect path, ever.
  • A real REST API at a price that doesn't require a discovery call.
  • QR codes that keep working when you change where the link points.
  • Bio pages for the "single URL slot" surfaces — Instagram, LinkedIn, email signatures.
  • Folders, tags, and bulk actions so a real team can stay organised.

So we built that.

How it works

Bring your domain. Add go.yourcompany.com in a few clicks, point a DNS A record at us, and we auto-issue a Let's Encrypt cert. Your short URLs live at yourdomain.com/launch from then on.

First-party click tracking. Every redirect logs a row in our database: timestamp, country, referrer, user agent. No third-party scripts touch the redirect path. The data is yours and exportable as CSV any time.

QR codes that survive change. Every link gets a QR code that encodes the short URL, not the destination. Print it once. Change where it points whenever. Same QR keeps working.

Bio pages. Create as many landing pages as you want — one at incy.my/@yourname for socials, another pinned to links.yourbrand.com/ for a fully branded surface. Drag to reorder. Tick to include links.

REST API. Per-user keys, JSON over HTTP, predictable responses. Auto-tags every API-created link with the key's name so you can audit what came from where.

What it costs

$10/month for Lite, $25/month + $5/extra-seat for Pro, custom for Enterprise. 14-day free trial, no card required. No "starting from", no "talk to sales", no surprise overages.

The comparison page lays it all out: pricing.

Who's behind it

Incy Links is built and operated by Stacksy Pty Ltd, an Australian software company based in New South Wales. We use it every day for our own work and our customers' work. If a feature exists on the marketing site, it's because it's in production and we use it ourselves.
